The Glamis sand dunes are amongst the most popular off-road destinations in Southern California. Thousands of visitors flock to the area on weekends to enjoy the many activities that can be done here.

The dunes are among the largest collective of sand dunes in California with about 118,000 acres of land and with an area that big, getting around Glamis dunes would require one to use a GPS.

To get around the Glamis dunes, the use of a GPS is most certainly needed. You need a GPS to locate certain places in the dunes such as the camping areas which are divided in to two.

There are camping areas in the North and South dunes but to get there and pretty much anywhere in the Glamis Dunes you would need a GPS.

Just how important is the use of a GPS in the Glamis Dunes? Well you need one, as mentioned above, to get to the many camping areas.

You would also need a GPS in the Glamis dunes to get to some of the various points of interests such as the Glamis Beach Store, the Boardmanville, “The Wall”, the Midway Well, Patton Valley and the Buttercup competition hill.

All of the places have specific coordinates and would require for you to have GPS in order to get to them.

The Glamis Dunes would seem like a giant sandbox without anything interesting in it if you don’t have a GPS to get around. Many of the activities that can be done within it would also require it.

So to make the most of your Glamis Dunes experience it is highly recommended that you get yourself a nice GPS.
